Riding the Chair Lift The chairlift station is at the top of Monte Solaro. Monte Solaro It is reachable only via chairlift, that could seem scary but is totally safe and especially spectacular because you can look at the view of the island form a unique point of view. Once arrived to destination you will have a 360 degree view of Capri, the By of Naples, Mount Vesuvius and the islands of Ischia and Procida.
From here, you can see the entire island, as well as much of the beautiful Amalia Coast. You can hike to the top of the mountain, which takes between 1 and 1.5 hours to do, but the easiest way to get to the top would be to take the Monte Solaro Chairlift. The short 12-minute chair ride to the top provides some beautiful views of the island as well.
The lift is located just off the main square in Anacapri. The bus from Capri drops you off at the square. We took the lift up and walked back down. The lift takes 15 min. and the walk down (depending on how fast you walk) 20-30 min. It was a very pleasant not difficult walk.
